John Lewis InStyle Box Review

Early February, I received an email from John Lewis saying that as I was a My Rewards Card Customer (a card where you get points for buying stuff) and if I spent over £70 in one single transaction before sometime in March, I would receive a free InStyle for John Lewis box full of deluxe samples.

Well, I am not going to lie, it wasn't hard for me to get this box since I get everything from John Lewis. So this past week, I was told I could come and collect my box from customer services.

Products I received were:
(John Lewis is currently having 10% off so prices might be different. Please visit http://www.johnlewis.com/browse/beauty/instyle for all products)

James Read Overnight Tan 25ml (£25 50ml, £35 200ml)
Sisley Black Rose Cream Mask 10ml (£85.95 60ml)
Clarins Smoothing Body Scrub 100ml (£26.10)
Laura Mercier Foundation Primer 30ml (£26.10 60ml)
Lancôme Hypnôse Waterproof Mascara Black 2ml (£18.00 full size)
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish™ Hot Cloth Cleanser with a muslin cloth 30ml (£15.50 100ml)
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant 13g (£41.75 75g)

I am so happy with the box! There are some really good samples in there and the best part apart from one (overnight tan) I will use them all. I really hope John Lewis do something like this again. I would love them. Did anyone else get a box? What do you think of the samples?

Sainsbury's Candles

I was in Sainsbury's the other day having my eyebrows threaded (such a relief having somewhere in town which now does threading) when I decided to have a mooch around the home department. Browsing I found these amazing candles.

Passion Flower and Mango

Heady notes of peach and mango rest on passion flower, sandalwood and soft vanilla. (Taken straight from Sainsburys website as it didn't come with a card or box with any information)

Wild Cotton

A fresh and clean wild cotton fragrance with delicate floral undertones (Sainsbury's website)

I remember when the candles launched in Sainsbury's and how wonderful the smelt. I was going to buy them then but I was in a rush and didn't have time. I completely forgot about them until I was browsing today and smelt them.

My favourite two scents out of the 5 (my Sainsbury's only had 5 there might be more) are Passion Flower and Mango and Wild Cotton. I was also very happy to see they had 3 wick candles and for the amazing price of £6. Yes £6! I am someone who has spent £40 on buying 3 wick candles and these Sainsbury's ones are amazing that smell divine and are a fraction of the cost. Also they have many other types such as a 1 wick candle, one in a jar and a larger one than this size.

I also bought the reed diffusers. They smell amazing. I am so happy. I plan to repurchase these. I also saw in another part an Elderflower and Mint candle. Didn't have time to smell it but I will see if it smells nice. I also want to buy the Sainsbury's White Fig & Patchouli Wax Filled Glass Candle. They didn't have any in stock but I remember it was the first candle I smelt when they launched and it was so nice.

There are loads more scents. Have you smelt any? If so which ones are your favorites?

March Haul

This month I've had a bit of a splurge so I thought I would do a haul post. Also I have lighted the reading column so it's not so purple, hopefully it will be much more readable now.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

These powders give such a lovely highlight to the face. I love using them on the high points of my face.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure

A lovely coloured blush. On my skin tone just right for summer.

Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer

I was a little hesitant about buying this as I have dry skin but actually it's not too drying on my skin and since my foundations are more of the moisturising type it helps to not look over greasy or shiny.

I bought all of my Hourglass products from Liberty London.

Laura Mercier Flawless Contouring Palette

When I saw this, I knew I had to buy it. I had always wanted to try cream contour and this looked like the perfect palette. Unfortunately, it was mostly sold out everywhere; luckily, I managed to get one from Harrods. It is a lovely contour palette.

Chanel CC Cream

I love Chanel foundations, they are the right colour on me and my skin seems to like them. So when I saw that Chanel had bought out their CC creams and this time there were a few shade choices I had to buy it. When it was first launched, it was in a universal shade that didn't suit my skin tone. It is a tad too light for me but I wear a bit of my Laura Mercier powder foundation on top and it looks so natural. Also it has SPF 50 in it, which is perfect since it's been nice and sunny in England.

Chloe Elsie Mini Shoulder/Camera Bag in Terracotta Pink

This bag is such a perfect colour for Spring/Summer. I also really liked this one because it has the leather strap and not the chain one. It's beautiful.

Louis Vuitton Medium Ring (MM) Agenda Cover in Monogram

I had been eyeing a LV agenda for a while. I usually always buy the Hello Kitty ones but they always fall apart after a year for me and I really wanted a nice leather one. I did have a lovely classic leather Filofax before but I have no idea where it is. I think it was misplaced somewhere when I was moving and I have never been able to find it. So anyway, I did look up quite a few reviews of the LV agendas and immediately could see that the PM was too small and the GM size was too big. It is beautiful and I am so happy I bought it. It is however expensive so I really had to do my research into buying one before I did. I will do more of an in depth post once I have set my planner they way I like it. I am still waiting for my dividers to come from Esty since I didn't get the LV inserts.

Assorted Washi tape

I am not really into over the top decorating my agenda but I did buy some Washi tape and a few stickers to decorate with. I got these ones from Amazon and they are decent quality.

Body Shop Fuji Green Tea Bath Tea Review

After seeing a few posts and ads for The Body Shop Green Tea range, I decided to buy the Green Tea Bath Tea and Infuser. I thought the concept was excellent a detox bath for your body. I also bought the infuser because I liked the idea about not having to clean up anything afterwards.

I thought since I am having a detox bath, I would also use some detoxifying products on my face so I cleansed my skin with the ESPA ProCleanser and I also used the Dr Organic Dead Sea Mineral Bio-Plasma Mud Mask. I really like using these two products together.

So back to the bath, I filled the infuser with the product, which a combination of bath salt and green tea and once my bath was full, I swirled the infuser around in my bath and then hooked it onto the drainpipe. You do get some fall out of the green tea but nothing major.

I do like the bath tea but it didn't really smell of anything and your bath doesn't fizz or have bubbles in it. I did enjoy it though and my skin does feel quite smooth post bath.

However, you know how green tea stains your cups ... well this bath tea did leave a rim around my bath. At first, I was furious thinking oh no, I am going to have to clean my whole bath again but it came out easily. I just used a microfiber cloth and some water and it did come out.

To be honest even though I like the idea and I will finish this product I most likely won't purchase it once it's finished. I would rather use the ESPA bath oils to be honest.

You can buy the Fuji Green Tea Bath Tea (£12) from The Body Shop website as well the infuser (£5)

Orlando Haul

In February, my mother and I went on holiday to Orlando, Florida. It was so much fun; we went to Universal Studios and Disney World. As well as visiting the theme parks, we also did some shopping so I thought I would do an Orlando haul.

Minnie Mouse shoes in polka dots and black.

I love these shoes! They are so comfortable and they look great. I actually wear both of these quite a lot.

Minnie Mouse hoodie.

I love to snuggle in this.  I love the hood!

Guerlain Météorites compact in Golden, Météorites baby glow in Golden and Météorites Perles De Blush.

I have never bought anything from Guerlain before but when we went to Dillard's I saw the blush and fell in love. When the woman applied the foundation and powder with the blush, I was in love so I bought it. It's lovely but very limited in shades. I am the darkest shade golden but my skin tone is actually quite light for being Indian.

Chanel Grand Shopping Tote (GST) in Black Caviar Leather

I love this bag! I use it for when I go to work and everyday needs. It's such a beautiful crafted bag as I would expect from Channel. I wasn't actually sure if I was going to buy another Chanel bag as I have 3 now but when I went to The Mall at Millenia it was between this one and the Saint Laurent Quilted leather tote in black. After looking at them both and also how they looked on me I just fell in love with the Chanel one. The YSL one is so pretty as well though, it was a tough decision. If you want me to do an in depth, review of the GST then let me know.

Prada wallet

This wallet is beautiful; it's also very durable too which is what I wanted in a wallet. I love it.

Aerosole shoes

So comfortable. I think these will be great for holiday and walking.

Narciso by Narciso Rodriguez

I love Narciso Rodriguez perfumes but oh my goodness this scent is just divine. I really recommend to smell this perfume as it is a beautiful scent.

That's everything I bought from Orlando. I actually didn't do much shopping as we mainly visited the parks.
